VANDALS TRASH NEW TREES AT MARKET STREET LAWN

Vandals uprooted new pine trees in Newcastle’s CBD overnight, throwing parts of them onto the roof of a nearby building, and leaving trails of debris.

Daracon workers say it’s the fourth time they’ve been called in to replant trees at the Market Street lawn.

Workers hope the installation of CCTV will help to curb vandalism in the area.
