It’s a local landmark that’s made quite the impression among tourists from far and wide.
Armidale’s Saumarez Homestead has been put in Trip Advisor’s Hall of Fame, after receiving a Certificate of Excellence for the past five years.
The award is given to businesses and attractions with outstanding customer service and consistently high ratings.
The manager of the historic site says it’s all down to the passion of the dedicated volunteers.
“The face-to-face interaction of the public with Saumarez Homestead is through our volunteers, I do a fair bit of it, but my volunteers do most of the guiding, they do all the catering, they do a lot of the gardening, yeah they’re just amazing how much they contribute.”
