He’s collected shipping containers worth of supplies for more than a year, and on Friday morning, Sione Finefeuiki and his Academy left for Tonga to help disadvantaged communities.
65 volunteers including medical professionals and a Newcastle netball team have set out on the two week venture.
The crew will run sports clinics and workshops at Sione’s old primary school.
Sione hopes to set the foundation for a sports centre in the coming years.
