TARA ANDREWS REDISCOVERS HER LOVE FOR FOOTBALL

She took a break from football two years ago, but former Matilda Tara Andrews says she’s rediscovered her love for the game.

The 24-year-old was eased back in during the last W-League season, then played for New Lambton in the WPL.

Despite scoring 17 goals, she believes she still has work to do.

“I guess compared to previous years I’m not at that level, fitness wise and with my touch but I want to try and get back to that level so hopefully this season I can be consistent and get back on the park as much as possible.”

Andrews wasn’t just playing football during winter, she also helped Wests to a premiership in local netball.

“It is very hard on your body and I was a little worried but I don’t think I got injured once at netball and I rolled my ankle twice at soccer so it can happen but yeah I really enjoyed playing.”
