EARLY WORKS TENDER ANNOUNCED FOR COFFS HOSPITAL EXPANSION

The $194-million expansion of Coffs Harbour Hospital has taken another step forward, with a tender awarded to start early works.

Architecture firm Lipman will start on the four-storey expansion.

It will include a new emergency department, operating theatres, additional critical care and inpatient beds, as well as increased capacity for chemo and renal dialysis.

This project also includes a short stay surgical unit, orthopaedic and vascular unit, ambulatory care area and the expansion of Community Health.

The early works will start in the coming weeks, while tenders will open for the main contract next month.
