Tamworth’s keen cyclists will soon be able to ride to and from the mountain bike park without worrying about their safety on the road.
A new bike track along Forest Road from Monteray Street to the Mountain Bike Club has been made possible by a state government grant.
“We’re seeing an increasing number of cycling enthusiasts, families, and on the back of the recent Tamworth Cycling Festival, more and more people are getting on their bikes.”
The funding comes after $900,000 for a bike track from Calala Lane to Greg Norman Drive was announced last week.
Tamworth Regional Council says it’s all part of a long-term plan to boost the city’s cycling culture.
“With this funding for the Craig Ends Lane to Calala Lane and also this Monterey to the Mountainbike Park makes connectivity right across the council area.”
