Federal member for Page, Kevin Hogan, continues to feel the consequences of his decision to move to the crossbench.
Yesterday, he was pre-selected by the Nationals to contest the seat in the upcoming election.
But he first had to defeat a motion to delay the vote, in order to allow for another candidate to step forward.
“This has been no walk in the park I’ve had some very uncomfortable phone calls from people in Canberra who are not happy, this is not a time to be weak this is a time where you have to stand by your convictions and you have to be very strong in that.”
If re-elected, Mr Hogan says he’ll review his position on the crossbench.
