WERRIS CREEK ROAD UPGRADE HIGH PRIORITY

Upgrading Werris Creek Road remains a top priority for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers candidate for Tamworth, Jeff Bacon.

He says with more than 4500 vehicle movements each day, something needs to be done about the state of the road now.

“This road is not designed to carry the volume of traffic that’s travelling on it now. We’ve had a massive investment into Werris Creek with the Crawford Rail Freight Hub – that’s going to put more traffic on the road,” SFF Candidate for Tamworth, Jeff Bacon.

A petition is gaining traction..and Mr Bacon says it’s time for the sitting member to find the funding.

“They’ve come out and said that they would fix some pot holes and maybe straighten some bends out, now it’s time to put your money where your mouth is and fix this road.”

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson says a three kilometre stretch north of Duri will be delivered this financial year, as a high priority.

He also says he’s in constant talks with the Roads Minister to secure further upgrades.
