HERITAGE PRESERVED ALONG KING GEORGE AVENUE
Tamworth Regional Council is digging deep to preserve a local state heritage item.
King George Avenue was first established in the 1930s.
A further 13 advanced English Oak trees are being planted along the strip this week, to compliment the 20 planted last year.
“For many people it serves different purposes. One lady who spoke to me from Europe, said she missed Germany so much she would drive down here sometimes and just sit.”
Councillor Juanita Wilson says she’s looking at the possibility of building a park along the avenue in the future.
