TONGAN COACH HEADED FOR ROLE AS KNIGHTS ASSISTANT

Knights incoming assistant coach Kristian Woolf has finished up with the Townsville Blackhawks, after they were bundled out of the Queensland Cup.

“I just feel both for myself as a coach and for the club that after four years it’s probably time for a change and it’s time for me to look at other opportunities that I think I’m going to learn at again and that’s certainly where I see Newcastle.”

Also the current Tongan coach, he’ll replace Mick Potter at Newcastle.

“I think it’s a club on the up as well and obviously a place not too dissimilar to Townsville in terms of living so I’ve got a family I need to relocate as well and that certainly factored in to it.”
