An elderly man has been shot in the leg in his own garage on the state’s north coast.
Just before 5am yesterday, the 76-year-old walked into the garage on his property at Tweed Heads West, to investigate a strange noise.
He opened the door and was shot in the leg by an unknown person, who then fled the scene.
He was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Police are today asking anyone with information or mobile phone footage to come forward.
