GOVERNMENT WORKING TOWARDS SOLUTION FOR REGIONAL DOCTOR SHORTAGES
The state government says it’s working towards a solution for doctor shortages in regional New South Wales.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Regional and Rural Health says it needs to be a co-ordinated approach between the government and local health districts…. supporting and encouraging transitions to the bush.
“We understand that there are some challenges when it comes to keeping and our rural GPs in our rural and regional communities and we’re very focussed on addressing that,” Leslie Williams, Parliamentary Secretary for Regional and Rural Health.
A recent meeting of health authorities identified hotspots…including smaller inland centres, but also along the far north coast.
