NEWCASTLE LOCKOUT LAWS TO REMAIN IN PLACE

Newcastle’s ‘last drinks’ and lockout laws will remain in place, with the state government handing down its decision following an independent review.

Three changes to the city’s licensing conditions were ultimately agreed to by the Office of Liquor and Gaming.

One will see only venues trading after midnight required to employ an RSA marshall from 11pm.

14 venues were examined by the review, which was handed down in April.
