GARNER STORMS HOME TO CLAIM QLD AMATEUR TITLE

Shelly Beach golfer Jordie Garner has taken out the Queensland Amateur match-play championship.

The teenager thought he was out of contention following a two-over par in the opening round…

but stormed home, shooting a staggering nine-under in the final 36 holes to claim victory by a stroke.

He departs for W-A next week.
