MARINE PARK PLANS FOR THE CENTRAL COAST

Some of the Central Coast’s most popular fishing spots could soon be off-limits to locals, if the state government gets its way.

Its plans for a Newcastle-to-Wollongong Marine Park have some residents up in arms.

  1. There are at least 22 fishing clubs on the Central Coast and the impact on their fishing ground will not only impact on the clubs but also other fisho`s that are not affiliated. Apart from that there is a multitude of business`s which this will directly affect ie; Charter boat operators , fishing tackle stores,boat sales and boat manufacturers just to name a few.This in effect will push fisherman further off the coast to enable them to fish.
    How far does this Government want to go as there has been no scientific studies or evaluations done to even consider this decision. It is just another blind act on the part of the Government which is basically saying that they do not know what they are doing taking away more civil liberties. Where do they stop?
