TWO WATCH & ACT BUSHFIRES IN NORTH WEST & NORTHERN RIVERS

UPDATE: The fire on Costellos Road, Pinkett near Glen Innes has been downgraded to ADVICE level, RFS say it’s being controlled.

BUSHFIRE UPDATE: Two Watch & Act fires are currently burning in the NBN News viewing region:

– Costellos Rd, Pinkett to the south-east of Glen Innes. Burning in an easterly direction, isolated rural properties may come under threat over the coming hours. Firefighters supported by aircraft are working to slow the spread of the fire and protect isolated rural properties.

– Coraki-Ellangowan Road in the Richmond Valley LGA. Fire is impacting isolated rural properties in the area. Firefighters supported by aircraft are working to slow the spread of the fire and protect properties.

More than 70 fires are burning across the state, with more than 800 firefighters working to protect life & property.

NSW RFS says “today’s total fire bans in Sydney, the Illawarra and the Hunter are the earliest we’ve had in the season in nearly a decade.”
