WOMEN OVER 60 SLEEPING HOMELESS IN THEIR CARS

The number of women seeking refuge on the Central Coast has near tripled in the last five years.

But most startling is the age group, a high number of females over 60 are homeless and sleeping in their cars.

In part three of NBN’s special series on Homelessness on the Central Coast, we reveal the strength of one elderly lady determined to rebuild her life.

  1. Liz showed there is gold at the bottom of the rainbow. Thank God there is a place for the homeless to go for support and encouragement to help themselves out of a deep cycle of depression. I only hope this story inspires others to follow in her footsteps and break that mind set of no where to go. Sadly not enough are given the chance to take their place in society once more. More power to the homeless shelter. Funding for this type of help is lacking. We, that are settled and comfortable in our daily lives should help support these organisations so Liz’s story is not just one but many. God bless them and we need to donate more than clothes we throw away.
