DISQUALIFIED DRIVER CAUGHT DOING ALMOST 200 KM/H

A 35-year-old man has been arrested, after he was caught travelling at almost 200 kilometres an hour on the Mid North Coast.

Officers spotted a Ford Falcon on the Pacific Highway at Raleigh at around 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon, attempting to pull over the vehicle after it was detected travelling 196 km/h in a 110 km/h zone.

It’s understood the car accelerated away, with police catching up with it near East West Road.

The driver was charged with a string of offences including drive motor vehicle during disqualified period

His passenger was also charged with two outstanding warrants.

Both are expected to face court later today.
