Some of the region’s finest athletes will be recognised when the Northern Inland Academy of Sport holds the first of its two award nights this Saturday.
The event is held in honour of the tireless hard work of athletes and their ongoing commitment to sport.
Among the highlights will be guest speaker Matt Denny.
Already a Rio Olympian in the discus throw, Denny also recently won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in the madcap hammer throw.
He’ll hit the track with the NIAS athletes on Sunday morning for a coaching clinic.
