B-DOUBLE CATCHES FIRE IN PALLAMALLAWA

A truck driver has escaped serious injury after his B-double caught fire in Pallamallawa this morning.

Emergency services were called to North Street just after 8.30, following reports a truck driving through the town had caught fire.

Surrounding homes were evacuated, while fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

The driver was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
