NOMAD BIKIE IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION INTO NEWCASTLE SHOOTING

A Nomads bikie is in custody tonight, after being charged as part of investigations into a shooting in Newcastle’s Darby Street, which left bullet holes in an apartment block.

Michael Lockyer faced court today and was refused bail.

His arrest came amid a probe into last Wednesday’s shooting, including a search of a Darby Street unit, where officers allegedly found a point-45 calibre handgun.

Lockyer is facing several firearms charges and is due back in court next month.
