District Park has received a mini makeover as part of National Tree Day.
Volunteers joined Newcastle Council at Wanderers Oval for a working bee this morning, revegetating a 600 square metre section with native groundcovers and trees.
More than 23-million seedlings have been planted across Australia since National Tree Day began in 1996.
