CLASSES AT UON SET TO BE IMPACTED BY PLANNED INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Industrial action is set to hit the University of Newcastle next week, right as students head back from semester break.

Classes will be impacted on Thursday, August 2, as members of the National Tertiary Education Union hold a 90-minute stop-work meeting.

The union says it follows a failure to reach a new enterprise agreement for educators, after more than a year of bargaining, with particular concerns around the casualisation of the workforce.
