ARMIDALE’S GEORGIE MORGAN RETURNS FOR THE HOCKEYROOS

Armidale’s Georgie Morgan has made a stellar return to the Hockeyroos over the weekend.

Australia opened its World Cup campaign in London, with a convincing 3-2 win over Japan.

And the 25-year-old played a key role in the Hockeyroos’ opening goal.

The match was her first in national colours for over 12-months.

She was previously sidelined due to a recurring foot injury.

The Hockeyroos shot-out to a three-nil lead, before Japan rallied in the second-half.

Australia is back in action tomorrow night against Belgium.
