MAN ARRESTED AT WINDALE OVER MAIL THEFT

A man will face court later today over a spate of mail thefts and break and enters at Lake Macquarie.

Police are investigating three break and enters, two at local businesses and one at a tavern in Charlestown, as well as an incident that saw 20 mailboxes robbed in late June.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at around 3pm yesterday on South Street at Windale.

He was charged with a string of offences including two counts of malicious damage.
