PORT STEPHENS BOMBERS WIN FIRST HUNTER GRIDIRON TITLE

It’s not a sport that gets a lot of attention in our region, but over the weekend the Hunter Gridiron League wrapped up its third season, with what it called Hunter Bowl Three.

The Port Stephens Bombers squared off against the Hunter Valley Miners, and it was the Valley side that took an early lead, as quarterback Nick Halliday combined with Evan Mitchell.

Having lost the previous two deciders, the Bombers eventually came back to win their first title 18 points to 7, with Will Bennett named MVP.
