AUSSIES DEFEATED IN MIXED RELAY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT IN GERMANY

The World Cup wasn’t the only title France won over the weekend, their triathletes also took out the Mixed Relay World Championship round in Germany,  beating an Australian team, that featured the Hunter’s Aaron Royle.

The defending champion Aussies looked out of contention midway through the race, but an inspired effort by Royle kept them in the mix.

Eventually it was Commonwealth Games silver medallist Jake Birtwhistle who earned Australia the silver medal.
