Meanwhile, Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce says he’ll put his own electorate forward as a location for a new coal-fired power station.
He says a report into electricity-pricing, released today by the A-triple-C, echoes the National Party’s call to have more baseload power and competition.
“I’m only too happy to put my electorate forward as anything that gets major investment and gets new jobs into our electorate and if we could do it here and if we’re part of a national program of bringing down power prices in an effective way, we should be part of that.”
