TWO MEN ON THE RUN FOLLOWING A ROBBERY IN WEST KEMPSEY

Police are on the hunt for two men after an elderly woman was robbed inside her home on Hill Street in West Kempsey.

The 88-year-old woman heard noises coming from the garage and went to inspect it.

It was then that she was confronted by the men.

“Those males then went back into the house with the elderly female victim and demanded cash from the house before running into the bush” – Guy Flaherty, Acting Inspector, Mid North Coast Police Command.

A crime scene was established and police say the dog squad located a handbag in nearby bushland.

The men are described as possibly being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance and aged in their 20s.

Both were wearing black-coloured clothing with one brandishing a garden stake.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
