STOLEN CAR CRASHED IN COFFS HARBOUR

Police are appealing for information, after a stolen car crashed in Coffs Harbour overnight.

Around 10.20pm, members of the public reported a vehicle being driven erratically on the Pacific Highway.

When officers attempted to stop the Holden Commodore, the driver allegedly turned and drove down the wrong side of the highway towards Mastracolas Road.

The vehicle continued for a short distance before crashing into the kerb.

Three males were seen fleeing the scene into bushland at the intersection of the Pacific Highway, Bray Street and Orlando Street.

Officers, with help from the Dog Unit, undertook an extensive search, but the men weren’t located.

Two are described as being of Caucasian appearance, and the third is of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance.

All three were wearing dark tracksuit pants and jackets, while one was wearing a black hat.

Police say the Holden was stolen from a home in Victoria last week.
