STEALING AND FRAUD INVESTIGATION IN NEWCASTLE REGION

Police are appealing for the public’s help, as they investigate stealing and fraud offences in the Lake Macquarie and Hunter region.

Officers believe the offences are being committed by an organised criminal group.

Between June and July 2018, police believe an organised group comprising of men and women, have targeted retail and fast-food outlets at shopping centres in Charlestown, Swansea, Morrisett and Wyee.

Police say these people are operating in pairs, targeting young female employees.

The offenders appear very confident and become argumentative with staff to confuse and trick them out of cash.

A silver Holden Commodore with Victorian registration places, has been seen in the area at the time of the offences.
