MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER OVER RAYMOND TERRACE HOUSE FIRE

A 69-year-old man has been charged with murder, after a woman’s body was found in a burnt out house at Raymond Terrace over the weekend.

Fire crews were called to the home on Rosemount Drive in the early hours of Saturday morning, extinguishing the blaze, before discovering the 76-year-old’s body inside.

The man was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court in September.

It’s believed the incident was domestic violence related.
