59-YEAR-OLD PEDESTRIAN INJURED NEAR TWEED HEADS

A 59-year-old woman remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital, after she was hit by a car on the New South Wales Far North Coast.

Emergency services were called to Minjungbal Drive at Tweed Heads South at around 8 o’clock last night, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a ute.

It’s understood the driver left the scene without stopping.

The woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital suffering head and leg injuries.

Police are now hoping to speak with the driver of a late model white single-cab ute, with a steel tray.
