PEDESTRIAN KILLED ON THE CENTRAL COAST

One man is dead and another is in a critical condition in hospital, after the pair were struck by a car on the Central Coast.

Emergency services were called to the Central Coast Highway at The Entrance North just after midnight last night, following reports two pedestrians had been hit near Mini Street.

A man believed to be in his 20s died at the scene, while a 46-year-old man was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

The 44-year-old driver was taken to Wyong Hospital for mandatory testing. He was later charged with a string of offences including dangerous driving occasioning death.

He was granted bail to appear at Wyong Local Court next month.
