INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED AFTER WHALE CARCASS WASHES UP ON A BEACH NEAR BYRON BAY

There were amazing scenes at a beach south of Byron Bay this morning after a 9 metre juvenile whale carcass washed ashore.

Crowds gathered as an excavator was brought in to remove it, a process which proved tricky.
