FARMERS ANGERED OVER NSW DROUGHT PACKAGE
Farmers have expressed their anger over certain conditions of the state government’s recently announced drought funding.
The $284-million package will give producers access to 50,000 dollar interest free loans, but the money CANNOT be used to buy fodder or water.
The state government says the loans can only be used to transport livestock, feed and water – along with installing water infrastructure and storing genetic bloodlines of sheep and cattle.
Many producers say having enough feed is now their main concern and they should be allowed to use the loans to buy fodder.
