9-YEAR-OLD GIRL GRABBED AROUND THE WAIST AT TWEED HEADS

Police are seeking public assistance, after a 9-year-old girl was grabbed around the waist on the New South Wales Far North Coast.

The girl was walking along Heffron Street at Tweed Heads on Thursday morning, when the incident occurred.

The girl managed to escape, and reported the incident to a teacher.

Officers are now hoping to speak with two men they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The first man is described as being Caucasian, aged in his 20s, with short brown hair, and with a black tattoo on his right ankle.

A second man is described as being in his 20s, with short brown hair, dark skin, and a silver nose ring.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
