A 33-year-old man has been left with a laceration to his throat, after he was allegedly slashed with a machete at Armidale.

It’s alleged the man went to a home on Morris Street at around 2:45 on Sunday morning, when the 30-year-old man inside the home attacked him.

Police have been told the pair had earlier been seen having an argument at an Armidale service station.

The 30-year-old was treated by paramedics and taken to Armidale Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

The 33-year-old was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
