LADIES DAY AT TAMWORTH JOCKEY CLUB

Women were celebrated today at Tamworth Jockey Club’s annual Ladies Day.

Traditionally a male dominated sport, organisers say it was a way to appreciate females within the industry.

“There’s so many ladies, and it’s really important I think that they’re given the opportunities,” says Kay Jeffrey.

With a special lunch held for the occasion, it was a good way to watch jockey Wendy Peel take out the Maiden Handicap.
