FINDINGS RELEASED INTO HUNTER VALLEY BALLOON CRASH
A report has found low cloud and fog contributed to a balloon crash in the Hunter Valley in March.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has handed down its preliminary findings on the incident, saying the weather conditions were factors in the pilot not being able to see his landing site.
The balloon’s basket slammed into trees near McDonalds Road at Pokolbin, injuring 16 people, three of them seriously.
The investigation continues.
