TWO MEN REFUSED BAIL AFTER NEWCASTLE HOME INVASION AND TAXI ROBBERY

Police have laid charges over an alleged home invasion and taxi robbery at Merewether.

34-year-old Jacob Toleafoa and 24-year-old Keiran Hogan are accused of breaking into a Watkins Street unit yesterday afternoon, before assaulting a 64-year-old man with a metal tyre lever… causing severe head injuries.

They’re also accused of robbing a taxi driver.

The men have been charged with several offences, including reckless wounding.
