PORT MACQUARIE WELCOMES TWO NEW REVERSE VENDING MACHINES

Making money from unwanted cans and bottles is becoming even easier in the Hastings with two more reverse vending machines now operating in Port Macquarie.

One is located at Gordon Street’s Grower’s Market while the other is in the Lake Innes shopping centre car park.

“I always said that I’ll continue to work towards getting more reverse vending machines because I knew that our community would certainly grab hold of this initiative. They’ve demonstrated clearly that they have. We’ll now start working on new machines at Lake Cathie and obviously at Laurieton and then at Harrington” – Leslie Williams, State Member for Port Macquarie

The Return and Earn scheme means residents can dispose of their unwanted cans, glass and plastic bottles – as well as juices boxes, in exchange for 10 cents per item.
