18-YEAR-OLD ROBBED AT KNIFE POINT AT UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE

An 18-year-old man has been robbed at knife-point, within the grounds of the University of Newcastle.

It’s understood the man was walking towards Warabrook Railway Station, at around 8:20 last night, when he was approached by a by a man and a woman.

Following a short conversation the man produced a small knife, demanding the 18-year-old’s phone and wallet.

He was then taken to a nearby ATM and forced to withdraw cash, handing it over to offenders.

The 18-year-old was uninjured, with the offenders last seen walking along University Drive.

The pair have been described to police as a man in his late 30s or early 40s, with a solid build, short hair and a beard, and a female in her late 20s or early 30s with dark hair.
