Police are investigating after a man attempted to drag a 17-year-old girl into his car, at Adamstown near Newcastle.
The 17-year-old was walking along Glebe Road at around 7:30 last night, when a dark grey Holden Commodore stopped near her.
Officers have been told the man spoke to the girl, before grabbing her arm and attempting to pull her towards the sedan.
She managed to get away, running to a nearby home.
The man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 183cm tall, with a thin build, and wearing a light blue hooded jumper, with the car last scene travelling east on Glebe Road.
