IVORY CLAIMS STAGE ONE OF PORT TO PORT RACE

The Hunter’s own cross-country national champion, Cameron Ivory, is making his debut in the Port to Port mountain bike race, as the opening stage shifted from its original home at Port Stephens to Pokolbin.
“It’s my first time here so I guess I don’t know what the first stage was like at Nelson Bay but I’m looking forward to it. I’ve never ridden up here before so it’s a first for me.”
Ivory eventually won the day by the barest of margins.
Racing continues tomorrow with a 45-kilometre stage, starting at West Wallsend.
