A new power struggle is brewing between the federal government and energy giant, AGL, this time over a Hunter coal mine.
NBN News has learned AGL is deep in negotiations to transform the facility into a hydro-electric plant, as it looks to fill the gap that will be left by the closure of Liddell power station.
