There was a fitting farewell for a Newcastle woman today, who dedicated her life to victims of child sex abuse.
A packed City Hall said goodbye to Helen Keevers, who was instrumental in assisting with the Royal Commission into Child Sex Abuse.
“Carried herself with grace, especially facing adversity. Whether that was testifying before the royal commission, the royal wave she gave when she entered the operating theatre last week, or the time one of her boys escaped on a routine shopping trip to David Jones.”
Ms Keevers passed away earlier this month aged 63.
