WARNERS BAY HOLD OUT ADAMSTOWN IN WPL

In Round 10 of the Women’s Premier League, South Wallsend upset New Lambton 6-5, Merewether beat Wallsend, while a second half comeback wasn’t enough for Rosebud to snatch a win over Warners Bay.

Adamstown suffered an early blow when keeper Olivia Sneddon was injured.

Warners Bay showed no mercy, Jenna Kingsley opened the scoring for the visitors.

Sophie Stapleton doubled the lead for Warners Bay.

The Panthers were in control as Kingsley grabbed a brace. It was a goal-fest at New Lambton, with the home side establishing an early two-nil lead.

But South Wallsend defied the odds to hit back, Gemma Pearce and Erin Wilson helping the visitors to a big upset.
