WATER MANAGEMENT IN FORSTER, TAREE AND SURROUNDS GIVEN THE TICK OF APPROVAL

Water management in Forster, Taree and surrounding areas has been given the tick of approval by MidCoast Water Services and New South Wales Health.

The organisations renewing a Memorandum of Understanding for the MidCoast Region.

“It governs the way we manage our supplies particularly in relation to public health and collaborating on the protocols and procedures governing those services.”

It’s been in place since 2008 and is now approved for a further five years.

Director of Water Services Brendan Guiney says the region’s water meets all of Australia’s drinking water requirements and is measured on a regular basis.

“We go through a rigorous risk assessment and we collaborate on the development of our drinking water quality management plan.”

MidCoast Water supplies up to eight billion litres of water annually, servicing 16 towns in the region.
