WOMAN CHARGED FOLLOWING BOGGABRI FATAL CRASH

A 48-year-old woman has been charged, after a man died and four people were seriously injured in a head-on collision in Boggabri last week.

The crash happened on the Kamilaroi Highway before 7pm on April 2, when a northbound Honda Civic and a southbound Toyota Camry collided.

An 18-year-old man, who was a back-seat passenger in the Civic, died at the scene.

The driver, an 18-year-old woman, as well as two other passengers were seriously injured.

The driver and sole occupant of the Camry, a 48-year-old woman, also sustained serious injuries.

Following her release from Tamworth Base Hospital, the 48-year-old woman was charged with several driving offences, including dangerous and negligent driving occasioning death.

She’s due to appear at Tamworth Local Court on May 21.
